First, apply to the college
Apply for admission to Santa Fe College online
Submit official transcripts prior to requesting an application to program, as they determine program eligibility or provide an override. If submitting from another institution, transcripts must be received and evaluated by Santa Fe College four (4) weeks prior to applying to a Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology program.
Second, apply to a Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology program
Apply for Associate in Arts in Art, Dance, Music and Theatre
This pre-major is an open access program, designed for the student who plans to transfer to a Florida public university as a junior to complete a four-year bachelor's degree in the fine or performing arts. If this pre-major transfers to a limited-access program, you are responsible for completing the specific requirements of the institution to which you plan to transfer into.
The A.A. Degrees in Art, Dance, Music and Theatre are open access programs. No audition is required for you to participate. Auditions are only utilized to select the Fine Arts Scholarship recipients and to select roles participation in specific Dance, Music and Theatre performances. Studio Art students submit works to be selected in art exhibits, as well.
Completion of this pre-major does not guarantee admission into your desired upper division limited-access program. The A.A. Fine and Performing Arts Programs will work closely with you to prepare you for the audition process at your chosen transfer institution.
For specific transfer information, meet with Claire Orenduff, the Chair of Fine and Performing Arts, to review your transfer plans, and check the transfer institution catalog for specific degree requirements. Contact claire.orenduff@sfcollege.edu or 352-395-5296.
Note: Students are strongly encouraged to meet with Claire Orenduff, after you meet with an academic advisor, to receive information about the electives that relate to your intended transfer baccalaureate degree program.
To apply to the Theatre and Entertainment Technology, A.S.:
This is a full-time degree program that requires a separate application. Once you are accepted into the program, we will assist as you register for classes each semester. This program is lockstep so that courses are completed in a specific sequence, this means that you must take the program classes in order. This is an A.S. degree; our courses do not transfer to other state colleges. This is a Career and Technical Program designed to put you to work. We only start a cohort in the Fall semester every two years. 2021, 2023, 2025 etc. Contact Sarah White to schedule an advising meeting and receive an application sarah.white@sfcollege.edu.
To apply to Digital Media Technology A.S.:
This is a full-time degree program that requires a separate application. A limited number of students are selected for the Fall or Spring Semester. Once accepted, students complete three 12-credit hour and one 9-credit hour semesters. Applicants to the Digital Media Technology, A.S. program must complete five general education prerequisites with a C or higher and contact the Coordinator of the program for advising prior to completing the application. Students can be accepted conditionally prior to completing all five prerequisites based on program space and academic progress. To apply to Graphic Design Technology, A.S.:
This is a full-time degree program that requires a separate application. A limited number of students are selected for the Fall or Spring Semester. Once accepted, students complete three 12-credit hour and one 13-credit hour semesters. Applicants to the Graphic Design Technology, A.S. program must complete five general education prerequisites with a C or higher and contact the Coordinator of the program for advising prior to completing the application. To apply to Multimedia and Video Production Technology, B.A.S.:
You must first complete the A.S. in Digital Media Technology before applying to the program. You may apply with a similar A.S. degree from another accredited institution. If your A.S. degree is from another institution, you may be directed to complete additional courses in the Santa Fe College Digital Media program to ensure your have adequate skills and prerequisites to be successful in the B.A.S. program. You must have a 2.5 GPA before entering and contact the program for application details.
