Prospective Adjunct Instructor

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Santa Fe College! All adjunct professors are employed on a term-by-term basis, permitted to teach up to twelve (12) credit hours per term, and paid semi-monthly by the per credit/contact hour rate. Information on pay rates and dates can be accessed at Part-Time Instructor Overload Pay Schedule.

Qualifications are based on the credentialing requirements of the accreditation bodies specific to the department of instruction. For further information on credentialing requirements, please see the Faculty Credentialing Manual for further information.

Application materials required for adjunct employment typically include the completed SF Employment Application, current, up-to-date resume and/or curriculum vitae, three (3) letters of reference and official college transcripts. Official college transcripts must be sent from the degree awarding institution directly to an agent of Santa Fe College. Generally, letters of reference should be signed by the author, or if sent via email, the letters of recommendation should be submitted directly from the author to an agent of SF. In order to initiate the hiring process, your assigned department must submit your application materials to Human Resources (HR) with the appropriate Part-time Recommendation for Employment Appointment form authorizing your hire with Santa Fe College. You will need to attend an Adjunct Faculty Onboarding Session to finalize the hiring process.

Onboarding Process

During onboarding sessions, hires learn about important college rules, policies and procedures and complete the required hiring and payroll paperwork. Additionally, during onboarding, HR must fingerprint all hires for the purpose of conducting criminal background checks required by Rule 3.22: Criminal Background Checks.

Adjunct Faculty Onboarding Sessions are offered on a weekly basis and conducted in the Office of Human Resources located in the Building R-Annex of the Northwest Campus. R-Annex (RA-100) is the building connected to the SF Food Court via the wooden walk way, in between the SF Bookstore and Building R. Find a campus map enclosed within this Welcome Packet. To sign up for an available Adjunct Faculty Onboarding Session, you must contact Human Resources at 352-395-5185.

At your scheduled Adjunct Faculty Onboarding Session you will be required to present original, unexpired identity documentation from the enclosed List of Acceptable Documents. One item from List A is acceptable or you must present one item from List B AND one item from List C.

If you wish to elect direct deposit, you will need to provide a check or formal bank documentation to confirm your name, bank account number and bank routing number.
