Certificate for Classroom Teaching and Learning

Overview

The Certificate for Classroom Teaching and Learning (CCTL) is a five-week program designed to promote active learning, student engagement, and the sharing of effective teaching practices across disciplines. There are three basic components to the CCTL program: face-to-face sessions, the Canvas course, and an independent study. The CCTL program is all about faculty sharing and collaborating with other faculty members across campus. All members of the faculty will find the program enlightening and worthwhile, whether teaching for one semester or 20 years! The cohort community is a powerful resource that will encourage faculty and provide valuable tools for classroom learning.

CCTL is currently being reimagined. We will post information on this page when we are done with the new program.

Modality

This web-enhanced program is made up of both face-to-face and online instruction. There will be five two-hour, face-to-face meetings plus an online Canvas course to supplement instruction. An independent study component provides participants with an opportunity to delve into discipline-specific active learning strategies.

Time Commitment

The program will take 15-20 hours over six weeks to complete.
