UF@SF Programs

UF@SF Partnership Programs

Santa Fe College and the University of Florida have partnered to maintain two special programs that help students transition to the University of Florida:

  1. Gator Engineering
  2. Gator Design and Construction

For a brief summary of these special partnership programs, please see Santa Fe College's Getting Into UF Page.

Receiving financial aid for these programs requires active participation between students, parents (of dependents) and the schools involved. In these programs financial aid is administered by the SF Financial Aid Office in the beginning. When the student is admitted to UF the UF Financial Aid Office will administer financial aid.

Recently UF Admitted?

If you have become UF-admitted, be sure to request all outstanding transcripts for SF processing to keep your final SF academic and financial aid/Bright Futures records accurate.

You must also update your FL Prepaid, federal and state applications with UF as your home institution! After this point, you will use your UF refund to pay your SF tuition and fees. The financial aid and Florida Prepaid accounts at SF get cancelled, as you cannot have these accounts at both schools.

Below is an outline of the financial aid resources and guidelines for these programs

Incoming UF@SF Students

When first considering the program, you may not immediately have access to the online student portal, so you may not be able to immediately see personalized financial aid information at SF. After your application is imported, your online student account/portal called eSantaFe is created, making your financial aid account called My FA Status available for viewing!

While you are waiting for your eSantaFe account

Until your eSantaFe and financial aid account (My FA Status) are created, you may be eager to see what funding could be available to you (a financial aid offer or what used to be called an award letter). To get a head start on the financial aid process at SF and get an estimate of what you may be eligible for please do the following steps and utilize the following resources:

  1. Complete your FAFSA. Use our Apply Using FAFSA webpage for more information:
    • If you have already completed your FAFSA, revise it to include Santa Fe College (School Code: 001519)
  2. If you have Florida Bright Futures, list Santa Fe College on your application. See our Bright Futures webpage for more information
  3. See an estimate of what your federal financial aid may be. Use our Net Price Calculator to estimate your aid
  4. Determine what it costs to be a student at SF. Review and use the college Cost of Attendance
  5. Complete all items needed by SF in a timely manner. Pay attention to the Financial Aid Dates and Deadlines

Once your eSantaFe account has been created

Once your eSantaFe account has been created you will have access to view and interact with your information for financial aid. You should begin by going to your My FA Status. My FA Status is your portal for all your financial aid information. Please follow the steps below to access My FA Status:

  1. Login to eSantaFe
  2. Click on the "Finances" tab in the left menu
  3. Click "My FA Status"

Once in My FA Status you can see the status of your financial aid account, your FAFSA status, what documents you may need to provide to the financial aid office, your cost of attendance, your financial aid awards, and your Satisfactory Academic Progress status. Please complete and submit any requested documentation and information as soon as possible to complete the financial aid process.

Note: Scholarship information (including Bright Futures Scholarships) shows differently than federal information on My FA Status. Scholarships can be seen on the Award Details screen of My FA Status once loaded. Bright Futures becomes available on student accounts once the State makes it available to SF (mid-July for the Fall/August start).

Be sure to regularly review your course and fee information in eSantaFe. You need to pay any balance remaining after your financial aid, scholarships, and Florida pre-paid are applied or your classes may be dropped. There are some fees that by state law the Bright Futures Scholarship and Florida pre-paid do not cover.

Second Semester and Beyond at Santa Fe College

During your second semester and until you fully transition to the University of Florida you will continue to follow standard financial aid and transient student protocols. Advisors of the programs will help you navigate the program. It is also helpful to reference your eSantaFe notifications and My FA Status page. Continue to submit all financial aid applications and documents to the SF financial aid office as listed in your My FA Status.

If taking UF classes as a SF student, be sure to request UF transcripts each semester so your financial aid (i.e. Bright Futures Scholarship) is properly processed. The same is true if you are taking classes as a transient student at any school other than SF while you are a SF student. Transcripts must be received to update your official school and financial aid records.

Be sure to regularly review your course and fee information in eSantaFe. You need to pay any balance remaining after your financial aid, scholarships, and Florida pre-paid are applied or your classes may be dropped. UF Admitted and taking classes at Santa Fe College

Once you have been admitted to your program at the University of Florida (UF), your financial aid for the remaining semesters in your program will be administered by the UF Financial Aid Office/ Office for Student Financial Affairs.

Your SF classes are held/covered until the day before the Last Day to Add Classes for the term. UF and SF do not automatically transfer funds between schools to pay your tuition and fees for you. Students who confirm their financial aid with the UF Office for Student Financial Affairs will also be given an extension (deferment) until aid can be disbursed. Please act immediately to avoid a payment obligation. You will need to do the following for your financial aid once admitted to UF:

  1. Follow the guidance and advice provided by the helpful advisors of the programs!
    • Pay attention to any emails, My FA Status alerts, or messages received regarding your transitioning status.
  2. Send your federal FAFSA and all future FAFSAs to UF (as the "home") institution. Login at FAFSA.gov to update your application by putting UF as your school of record (School Code 001535) and removing SF.
  3. If applicable, update your State Bright Futures application to go to UF (School Code 011) for all relevant semesters and renewals.
  4. Be prepared for the cancellation of your SF financial aid, scholarship accounts, and SF Florida Prepaid accounts, as you cannot have these accounts at both schools.
  5. You may need to cover required textbooks at SF and await payment/disbursement from UF, as SF may be unable to extend book charging to students who are receiving aid at another institution other than SF.
    • If you receive the pre-semester Bookstore Line of Credit (BLOC) through SF and opt to use it, note that you may receive a bill or balance due for the amount used once the SF campus bookstore reconciles the accounts for the term(s).
  6. Once in UF status, attendance must be received (electronically through the appropriate system) for funds to be paid out/disbursed through UF.

Once you have been UF admitted, your SF classes are held/covered until the day before the Last Day to Add Classes for the term. UF and SF do not automatically transfer funds between schools to pay your tuition and fees for you.

UF Admitted only taking classes at the University of Florida

Once you have completed all SF classes as part of your UF@SF program you will not complete any transient processes or attendance procedures. After ensuring that SF has received all transcripts from classes at UF, you will complete the remainder of your program and financial aid with the University of Florida Office for Student Financial Affairs.
