Overview

Donations to SF’s Center for Applied Ethics and Humanities are vital to the development and sustained implementation of its many initiatives.

National Endowment for the Humanities

SF received a NEH Community College Initiatives Grant in 2020.  The grant-funded project, Engaging in Ethics:  Promoting the ‘Good Life’ through Ethics Education, is a three-year project whose purpose is to engage the SF community in ethics and humanities initiatives that promote civic, vocational, and humane development.  For more information about NEH project initiatives, contact Project Director Ann Thebaut (ann.thebaut@sfcollege.edu) or Project Co-Director Bill Stephenson (bill.stephenson@sfcollege.edu).

American Philosophical Association

SF received a grant from the American Philosophical Association’s Berry Fund.  These funds will be used to sponsor a series of Global Conversations Cafes (launching in September, 2021) at SF’s International Center.  The purpose of these Conversation Cafes is to bring together people to share food and conversation about some of the tough global issues of our time.

Harvard University’s E.J. Safra Center for Ethics

The E.J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University provided funding for SF’s 2020-2021 ICDP Student Fellows, awarding each of SF’s eight Fellows a $1,000 honorarium.

Kegley Institute of Ethics

The Kegley Institute of Ethics at California State Bakersfield University will be sponsoring SF’s 2021/22 ICDP Student Fellows by providing each of SF’s eight Fellows a $1,000 honorarium.
