Advising

The advisors at the Blount Center are ready to provide one-on-one assistance for students as they work towards completion of their educational goals. Stop in and talk with one of our advisors, who can talk with you about all the programs SF offers.

Learning Commons

Located in DB213, students can meet with a math or writing tutor, complete homework, book a quiet study space, or work on group projects. Assistance is provided for the application process, Florida residency, initial assessment (PERT), FAFSA (Federal Application for Student Aid), academic advisement, and registration.

Library

Located in DB-213, the Library and Learning Commons supports all learning, encouraging you to meet your academic goals and to increase your ability to learn. A Librarian is on staff to support student assignment planning and research in-person or via chat, phone, text, or email. Ebooks and articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers can be accessed. Streaming video and special reports are available online for students and staff.  You can also pick up and drop off printed books, DVDs, and CDs.

Student Life

Our center provides students the opportunity to connect with the heart of downtown Gainesville and the local community. Helping students plug in to the events and activities at SF not only connects them to our resources and support services, but it also inspires them to be successful.
