Yo Hablo Español
Overview
Is your primary language in the home Spanish? Have you thought about going to college, but don't know where to start? Connect with one of SF's Spanish-speaking staff or follow the steps to enroll below. Also be sure to check the events calendar for SF's Sigue Soñando workshops hosted by the Office of Admissions.
These workshops provide one-on-one assistance from Spanish-speaking staff for interested students to ask questions and gain information about the admissions process at Santa Fe College.
Steps to Enroll
Santa Fe College welcomes all students, regardless of immigration status, including undocumented and DACA status students. We accept new students each semester – fall, spring, and summer. You may submit your application online at any time.
Regardless of your immigration status, all students can apply for admission to Santa Fe College through the online Application for Admission.
If student is undocumented or DACA status:
- For Citizenship type, select International Applicant.
- For Visa Type, select none.
- For Residency, select do not qualify.
- You will initially be categorized as an International student. After completing the application for admission, please contact an Admissions Advisor through our digital lobby and request to have the requirements for international students removed from your account and get answers to any questions you may have regarding admission to the college.
Students who cannot complete the Florida Residency process may qualify for a waiver to waive out-of-state tuition. However, this does not give Florida Residency. Please see the requirements below:
If you attended a high school in Florida and meet the eligibility criteria below, you may be eligible for an out-of-state tuition waiver (and eligible to pay in-state tuition rates at Santa Fe College):
- Attended a Florida high school for the last three consecutive years immediately before graduation from a Florida high school
- Submitted an admission application to a college or university within 24 months of high school graduation
- To find the Florida High School Graduate Waiver,
- Login to eSantaFe with your SFID and password
- Click Documents, then Public Documents.
- Click Admissions Documents, then Florida High School Graduate Out-of-State Waiver.
- Complete this form.
- Admissions Advisors are available to answer questions regarding your application, the tuition waiver and next steps toward enrollment. Contact an Admissions Advisor through our digital lobby.
Financial Aid
Undocumented students, including DACA recipients, are not eligible for federal student aid. However, undocumented students, including DACA recipients, may be eligible for state or college financial aid.
Most states and colleges use information collected on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine whether students are eligible for aid. If you have a Social Security number, you may complete the FAFSA and we encourage you to do so at fafsa.gov. For the answer to the question about citizenship status, check the box that says "ineligible non-citizen".
We also recommend that you contact a financial aid advisor to see what types of financial aid you may be eligible to receive and whether completing the FAFSA is the way to apply for that aid.
Scholarships
Several scholarships are available to students who may not qualify for Financial Aid through FAFSA. Click on the Santa Fe College General Scholarship Application link below. There will be 2 years of applications to choose from. Please choose Current Year. If you are not eligible to complete a FAFSA, the scholarship application will ask you to provide a statement of need instead.
