Steps to Enroll
International students who want to study in the U.S. and require an F-1 or F-2 student visa to study at SF should follow these steps in order to become a student at SF. Other international students should select their appropriate student type: First Time in College, Transfer or Returning.

Application Requirements
We recommend that you use your name exactly as it appears in your passport when completing all of the steps below (online application, TOEFL).
Provide Proof of High School or Secondary School Completion
Admission to Santa Fe College requires that applicants demonstrate proof of completion of a level of education that is equal to or higher than a U.S. high school diploma.
To complete this step, send official high school transcripts to aNACES-accredited credential evaluation company orAICE-accredited credential evaluation company forverification, translation and evaluation. Request to have evaluation reports sent directly to theOffice of Admissions, Santa Fe College.
Students requesting an evaluation of secondary or high school transcripts/diploma need to order a Document by Document (General) evaluation. Students with post-secondary (College or University) transcripts must request a Course by Course evaluation.
International students can provide proof of English language proficiency by one of the following means:
- TOEFL score of 32 or higher on internet-based test (iBT) Scores must be less than two years old and sent directly to Santa Fe College from ETS (ETS Code for SF: 5653) -OR-
- IELTS score of 4.5 or higher. Scores must be less than two years old and sent directly to Santa Fe College from IELTS -OR-
- Duolingo Academic Test score of 65 or higher. Scores must be less than two years old and send directly to Santa Fe College from Duolingo -OR-
- SAT scores of at least 24 on the Reading section AND 25 on the Writing section. Scores must be less than two years old -OR-
- ACT scores of at least 19 on the Reading section AND 17 on the Writing section. Scores must be less than two years old -OR-
- Completed the equivalent of English Composition I (ENC1101) at a regionally accredited U.S. College or University with a grade of "C" or higher -OR-
- Earned standard diploma from a valid United States high school -OR-
- Earned an International Baccalaureate "IB" Diploma -OR-
- Earned a diploma from a high school with valid CIS (Council of International Schools) accreditation -OR-
- Proof of citizenship from an English-speaking country -OR-
- Completed level 40 or higher in all sections at the University of Florida's English Language Institute (ELI)
Note: Santa Fe College reserves the right to mandate TOEFL test scores of any student applicant
- Complete the F-1 Student Proof of Funds Form
- Include your financial documentation – Bank Document or Scholarship Letter with the Proof of Funds Form
- All documents must be originals, less than 6 months old, and currency must be United States Dollars (USD)
- If your sponsor is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, also complete form I-134
- These documents should be sent directly to International Student Services, Santa Fe College
- If you are transferring from another U.S. College or University, please contact an International Student Services advisor to obtain the SEVIS Transfer-In Form.
- If you have previous college or university credits from a non-U.S. institution, you must send your official transcripts to a NACES-accredited credential evaluation company for a course-by-course evaluation.
- If your spouse and/or children require F-2 visas, you will need to complete additional paperwork.
- If you are applying for a Change of Status, you must submit copies of your current visa, form I-797, and other documentation as requested.
- If you are already inside the United States, please send copies of your I-94 Record, all previously issued I-20 forms, and F-1 student visa. These documents can be sent to International Student Services via email.
Santa Fe College offers numerous institutional scholarships including need-based general scholarships for in-district and out-of-district students, merit based scholarships, and other scholarships to support underserved populations.
- Complete SF General Scholarship application.
Upon completion, check verification or awards status on your "My FA Status" in eSantaFe.
