Party for the Planet
April 15-16, 2023 - Join us to Clean, Create, and Connect to nature to celebrate Earth Day. We’re throwing a shindig for animals around the world and our own backyards.
World Tree Kangaroo Day
May 21, 2023 - It’s a bear! It’s a monkey! No…it’s a tree kangaroo! We're celebrating this rare, majestic animal and you can learn how to help them in the wild.
Brew at the Zoo
June 10, 2023 - Guests (21+ only) are invited to the Zoo for an evening of live music, craft beer tastings, animal encounters, food and more! Join us for the wildest event in Gainesville.
Zookeeper Day
July 22, 2023 - Have you ever wanted to be zookeeper? Join us in celebrating the amazing work zookeepers do every day and test out your own zookeeping skills!
Boo at the Zoo
October 31, 2022 - Students transform the zoo into a multi-themed trick or treating wonderland for Halloween! Admission is just 1 non-perishable food item per person to support local food pantries.

Stop, Paws and Learn
February 2019 - Parents, kids, and animal lovers can learn about pets and pet care, help shelter pets find forever homes, and enjoy a hands on PBS Kids Zone with activities and giveaways
Quiet Time at the Zoo
September 2019 - Join us for a special event for children on the autism spectrum. The event includes sensory activities and quiet zones, animal encounters, keeper talks, training demonstrations, food trucks and community resources.
