Santa Fe College OPEN Friday, October 11

October 10, 2024

Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II released the following statement to the college community about reopening after Hurricane Milton.

Dear Santa Fe Family,

I hope you all stayed safe during Hurricane Milton. As soon as the storm passed, our Facilities Services team began the process of surveying our Northwest Campus and our educational centers. As a result of our assessment, Santa Fe College will reopen Friday, October 11th.

I am aware that some students and employees may be dealing with impacts from the storm, and many have families in more severely damaged areas of our state. Our faculty and supervisors should be empathetic to our students and employees who are dealing with the storm's aftermath.

Students who may have difficulty coming back to their classes should reach out to their instructors to notify them of their situation. Additionally, students can access TimelyCare, which provides 24/7 access to physical and mental wellness assistance.

Employees who may have difficulty coming back to the college should reach out to their supervisors to make them aware of their situation. Teladoc is available for our employees on the college's health care plan to offer additional assistance as needed.

Should a student or employee notify you that they have an extreme situation, such as severe damage to their residence, or other more profound impacts, please notify your division vice president immediately, so executive leadership can discuss ways the college can offer support.

Please continue to monitor the SF Alerts page, and your Santa Fe College email account for additional information as we resume standard academic and business operations.

Take care,

Paul
