Santa Fe College is Monitoring Potential Tropical Storm Nine
September 23, 2024
As Tropical Storm Debby continues to move away from the area, Santa Fe College will be open Tuesday, Aug. 6. College officials were able to inspect all college buildings and determined the majority of facilities are ready to welcome the college community back to all locations.
Although the Northwest Campus and all SF centers were predominantly unharmed by the storm, the college is aware that some students, faculty and staff have seen more severe water and wind damage from the storm. Faculty and supervisors should be empathetic to the concerns of students and employees, many of whom evacuated the SF service district and may need additional time before returning to the college.
Faculty should work with their students to ensure that they are able to keep up with their classwork and exams. Supervisors should coordinate with employees for either Temporary Alternative Work Assignments or allowing use of leave if they are unable to return Tuesday.
