Washington and Renfro Sign With NCAA Div. II Schools

WASHINGTON AND RENFRO SIGN WITH NCAA DIV. II SCHOOLS

Gainesville, FL – Sophomore basketball players Mike Washington and Chad Renfro have signed with NCAA Division II institutions, SF Coach Chris Mowry recently announced.

Mike Washington will continue his playing and academic career at West Virginia Wesleyan under the tutelage of head coach Jeff Price. In 2010-11, the first under Coach Price, the Bobcats finished 19-11 overall and 13-9 in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC).

As a sophomore Washington averaged 5.5 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game. At the conclusion of the season he was named All Mid-Florida Conference Honorable Mention.

Chad Renfro has signed his letter of intent with Barry University where he will continue his career under head coach Cesar Odio, who begins his 17th year at Barry in 2011-12.

The Buccaneers concluded the 2010-11 season with a 9-18 overall record and a 5-11 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.

Renfro averaged 11.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game his sophomore season and led the state of Florida in three pointers made with 86, earning All Mid-Florida Conference First Team honors.

Both players will have two years of eligibility remaining at their respective institutions.
