Public Complaints
Overview
Complaints from public (not a student or college employee) sources may come to any office in the College (by telephone, email or mail) and will then be referred for response to the Supervising Administrator (SA) with ultimate authority for the division.
Procedures for Filing Public Complaints
The following procedure is required to file a complaint against the College:
- A written complaint must be submitted by the individual along with supporting documentation for the allegation.
- The SA will acknowledge receipt of the complaint.
- If necessary, an appointment will be made for the complainant to meet with the SA to discuss the allegation.
- After thorough review, the SA will inform the complainant of the outcome of action in writing within 20 days of acknowledging receipt of the complaint.

SACSCOC Complaint Information
Information about filing a complaint with the College's accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), can be found on its website. Please note that the SACSCOC complaint process is not intended to be used to involve the Commission in disputes between individuals and member institutions or to cause the Commission to interpose itself as a reviewing authority in individual matters; nor does the policy allow the Commission to seek redress on an individual's behalf. The primary purpose of the SACSCOC complaint procedure is to acquire valuable information regarding an accredited institution's possible non-compliance with accreditation standards, policies and procedures rather than to resolve individual disputes.
