SF Baseball: Wiggs Hits 600 Wins as Saints Take Down Seminole State
March 31, 2025
The Santa Fe Saints had a rough start to their three-game series against Seminole State College of Florida but finished strong with a dominant doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
In Thursday’s opener, errors proved costly for SF in a 5-3 loss at home. The Saints committed five errors, giving the visiting Raiders extra chances that made the difference in a close game.
Two days later in Sanford, the Saints bounced back in a big way. Head Coach Johnny Wiggs hit a major milestone in the first game of the doubleheader, earning his 600th win at Santa Fe College. The team made it a celebration to remember, dominating the Raiders with back-to-back wins of 12-3 and 15-4. The second game was even more special, as it marked Wiggs' 800th career win overall.
With the series victory, the Saints improve to 10-11 in the Citrus Conference and 19-19 overall. They return to action on Thursday afternoon with a road game against Florida Southwestern State College.
