November 14, 2018 - Santa Fe College is a proud supporter of the United Way of North Central Florida and the great work they do to support people in need in our community. Over the last several weeks, SF students, faculty and staff have been raising money to support the United Way.

A one-time donation to the United Way can be made through their contribution website. Just write "Santa Fe College" in the Notes section to denote the donation is coming from SF. SF employees can also opt to complete the United Way pledge form for a donation from each paycheck.

There is also a Solano scooter up for bid. The scooter, valued at $800, could be yours if you make the highest bid. There is a box located in the SF Bookstore and the deadline to submit is Friday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to benefit the United Way of North Central Florida.

Last, but certainly not least, is Penny Wars, pitting SF students against staff with the ever-popular "pie in the face" once the competition ends. Collection jars have been set up across campus for weeks as both coins and bills were collected. Once all the money is totaled up, we'll find out if the students or staff raised the most to help people in the community. If the students raise more funds than the staff, Student Body President Alejandro Puga will get the honors of throwing a pie in the face of VP for Advancement Chuck Clemons. If the staff collected the most, VP Clemons will get to throw a pie in the face of President Puga. As of the end of week three, in the four-week competition, the staff had a sizeable lead over the students.

Details on the Penny Wars results will be coming soon, but until then, get your bids in on the scooter, donate online, or pledge to give with each payday.
