SAINTS SUFFER THIRD STRAIGHT MFC LOSS AT THE HANDS OF SEMINOLE, 6-5
Sanford, FL – Seminole State College broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the ninth when the Saints (9-10, 0-3 MFC) committed a two out error to earn the MFC victory over SF on Saturday afternoon in Sanford.
Seminole took the early lead 1-0 in the first inning and the Saints tied it up in the fourth on a double steal, scoring Joe Clouse. SSC retook the lead in the bottom of the fourth on an unearned run. Both teams scored one in the sixth, but Seminole retook the lead with two in the seventh on a double and a HR, going up 5-3.
Saints outfielder Bryce Johnston hit a solo homerun in the eighth to get SF within one and Mike Miranda tied the score at 5-5 when he singled home TJ Spina.
Seminole pulled the game out in the ninth when the Saints committed a two out bases loaded error to give SSC the win.
Ken Wise started on the mound and pitched six innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, Corey Turner, Kevin Welborn and Ory Pitts pitched in relief.
Austin Lawrence finished 2-for-5, TJ Spina was 2-for-3, Mike Miranda was 2-for-5 with three RBI and Joe Clouse was 2-for-3
