Honors Program
Overview
The Santa Fe College Honors Program fosters academic excellence and extracurricular enrichment among highly motivated, intellectually curious, creative learners who represent the full diversity of the SF community.
The Honors Program at SF is an academic program in which students and faculty collaborate as partners in a learning process that takes place within and beyond the classroom. Honors classes provide learners with greater autonomy and present educational opportunities that are unique, engaging, creative, challenging, and exciting-exploring topics in greater depth and providing students with mastery of the concepts they explore. In addition to learning specific course content, Honors Program students refine their written and oral communications, critical thinking, and research skills. Outside the classroom, Honors students work closely with faculty and peers in research, service, development, and preprofessional activities.
Above all else, the Honors Program is a community that supports and challenges each
of its members to maximize their potential. Students and professors interact closely,
engaging with their peers across disciplines and contributing to each other's growth
to help them realize their academic, personal, and professional goals and to become
civically-engaged, active participants on campus and in the community.
