Student Services
Overview
The Andrews Center offers one-stop service for almost all processes and procedures necessary to take a student from application to graduation.
Advising
The Andrews Center advisor will provide one-on-one assistance for students as they work towards completion of their educational goals. Assistance is provided for the application process, Florida Residency, FAFSA (Federal Application for Student Aid), academic advisement, and registration. Stop in and talk with our advisor, who can talk with you about all the programs SF offers.
Learning and Assessment Lab
Students can meet with math tutors in room SA-205 or writing tutor in room SA-107. The Anatomy and Physiology instructor offers tutoring during office hours in SA-107. This is a great opportunity to complete homework, or work on group projects. Assistance with initial assessment (PERT) testing is provided.
Dual Enrollment
This program provides high school students an opportunity to earn college credit before they graduate. In the HSDE program, selected college courses count toward both a high school diploma and a degree from SF. Successful completion of college coursework while dual enrolled makes it possible for students to graduate with a college degree earlier than they otherwise might have. Students with a 3.0 GPA are eligible to dual enroll beginning the second semester of their 9th grade year, if they pass one area of the PERT. Textbooks and tuition are paid by their High School.
Students in the 11th or 12th grades with a 2.5-2.99 GPA can be recommended for the dual enrollment program by their High School Counselor. To qualify, they must pass one area of the PERT and are eligible to take SLS1101 only the first semester. Their GPA must improve to a 3.0 after the first semester to continue the dual enrollment program.
Student Life
As a student at the Andrews Center, you can become an active participant in Student Activities. Maybe you are interested in being the President or another officer? Students do service projects to give back to the community, participate in our fall and spring festivals, paint a pumpkin or find some Easter eggs to win a prize, make up stress bags for finals and collect food for the food pantry during the holidays. Meetings are announced, or ask our advisor for more information.
