Emergency Medical Technician
Median Pay: $44,780 per year
Train entirely in Bradford County. After only about four months of training, you can begin a satisfying and in-demand career as an Emergency Medical Technician.
This program is 320 hours of classroom, skills lab, and clinical experience leading to a certificate.
Students may quality for the Florida Open Door Grant, which covers 100% of tuition, fees, books, supplies and assessments and may provide up to $1,500 toward living expenses.
Classes are held at the Andrews Center in Starke; hospital clinical experience can be performed at HCA Starke Emergency Department; and rescue clinical experience is provided by Bradford County Fire and Rescue.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam.
Health Information Technology
Median Pay: $62,990 per year
In just two years, you can become a highly sought after Health Information professional. Class are offered all online.
Health Information Technologists work with all healthcare providers and departments, to help ensure patient information is correct and to promote patient safety through best documentation practices.
They may also work for insurance companies, consulting firms, government offices, pharmaceutical companies, nursing homes, law firms and colleges. There are numerous work-from-home opportunities as well.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) national certification exam.
