Middle Schools
Sharing the idea of college before the reality of high school
Younger students and their parents don't always understand how affordable and achievable a college degree can be, and how much it can transform a person's life and community. SF Achieve works with middle school students to clear up myths and misunderstandings about college, and to offer first-hand experiences with valuable real-life career opportunities.
Middle School Days
Santa Fe College ensures that every student enrolled in Alachua and Bradford county public middle schools has the opportunity to visit a college. The Middle School Days program is coordinated directly with each area middle school, and allows every eighth grader to visit SF's Northwest Campus, or another SF location, during the course of their school year. Participants gain first-hand experience with and understanding of career options, college programs, the student experience, and much more.
Connecting to middle school students and families
As part of the college's outreach to middle school students and families, SF Achieve will be soon be offering workshops for parents. For more information about these workshops or Middle School Days, contact our SF Achieve Middle School & Family Program Specialist. Parents and families can also connect with SF at parents@sfcollege.edu.
