Overview
This information will explain the services offered by the Santa Fe College Police Department as well as the college regulations our office enforces.
Bus Service
SF is regularly serviced by the Regional Transit System (RTS) and buses stop on campus in front of S building. Bus route information is available in the Robertson Administration Building and S Building.
Service Animals
SF is covered by Alachua County Ordinance Number 72. With the exception of service animals, no dogs are allowed in the buildings at any time. Learn more about Service Animal Guidelines here.
Alachua County Code states:
It is illegal to allow any dog to roam at large. All dogs must be kept under "direct
control" at all times, when off their owners property, by means of a leash, cord,
or chain of such strength to restrain the same.
Dogs that are brought on campus and left to run at large, that are left tied and unattended
for long periods of time, and/or are left in automobiles with little or no ventilation
may be picked up by the Alachua County Department of Animal Control or the Humane
Society.
Lost and Found
The Santa Fe College Police Department is charged with securing all items found on campus. These items are to be turned into the Police Department as soon as possible. Lost articles may be claimed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Safety Escort Service
The Santa Fe College Police Department will provide primarily nightly safety escort service to and from buildings for those who desire it. If you desire a safety escort day or night, you may call the Department at 352-395-5519.
Alcoholic Beverages
Under college policy alcoholic beverages are prohibited on campus.
Emergency Messages
SF has no electronic paging system. The department will attempt to deliver emergency
messages of a very serious nature. If a student in a class needs to be contacted,
the nature of the emergency will have to be stated before the class can be interrupted.
The department is open 24 hours a day every day of the year. An officer can be reached
by dialing 352-395-5519.
Safety Tips
- Try to park in a well lit area.
- Walk with a friend to and from class.
