SF Men’s Basketball: Saints End Season Fighting Until the Final Buzzer

March 5, 2025

The Santa Fe Saints men’s basketball team wrapped up their season this week. While they fell just short of a playoff spot, the team delivered exciting performances and showed resilience throughout the season.

On Saturday, the Saints gave fans a strong finish at home with an 85-75 victory over Miami Dade College. The win provided a bright moment in their final home game, sending the team into their last road stretch with momentum.

Two days later, SF traveled to Fort Pierce to take on Indian River State College in their final regular-season game. The Saints fought back from a deficit, but fell just short in an 88-87 loss.

With a postseason berth still within reach, SF faced St. Petersburg College on Tuesday in a tie-breaker game for the final Citrus Conference playoff spot. After splitting their regular-season series, both teams entered the game with everything on the line. However, St. Petersburg pulled away in the second half, securing a 71-56 victory and bringing the Saints' season to a close.

Led by first-year head coach John Ritzdorf, Santa Fe College finished the season with an overall record of 11-20 and a 6-10 record in conference play.
