SF Basketball: Saints Seek Redemption After Road Losses

January 30, 2025

Santa Fe College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams faced tough competition on Wednesday, each coming up short in their road matches.

Men’s Basketball

The Saints traveled to Miami Dade College for a conference matchup against the Sharks. Both teams struggled to find their rhythm offensively, but Miami Dade managed to secure a 67-58 victory.

Santa Fe kept the game close in the first half, trailing 30-25 at the break. The Saints attempted to rally in the second half, but Miami Dade’s 37-point performance proved too much to overcome.

SF will return to action on Saturday, February 1, hosting Indian River State College at 4 p.m.

Women’s Basketball

The Saints traveled to Fort Myers for a rescheduled game against Florida Southwestern State College. A slow start put SF in an early deficit, as Florida Southwestern built a 20-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Despite a strong effort late in the game, the Saints could not close the gap, falling 75-56.

SF now have time to regroup before facing Daytona State College at home on February 8 at 5 p.m.
