SF Baseball: Saints Battle Through Tough Week on the Diamond

The Santa Fe College Saints faced a busy week on the baseball field, navigating a mix of close wins and losses.
Doubleheader at Eastern Florida State College – March 15
In the first game of a Saturday doubleheader, SF broke a scoreless tie in the second inning with a three-run burst. Eastern Florida State chipped away with single runs in the third and fifth innings, but the Saints added insurance in the sixth to secure a 4-2 victory.
The second game flipped the script, turning into an offensive showcase. SF built an early lead and held off a late push from the Titans to win 10-8, sweeping the day's matchups.
Comeback Against FSCJ – March 18
Facing Florida State College at Jacksonville, the Saints fell behind early but fought back to claim an 8-5 win. A three-run rally in the eighth inning proved to be the difference.
Rough Outing at College of Central Florida – March 20
The Saints traveled to Ocala to open a three-game series against the College of Central Florida. The Patriots used a massive nine-run third inning to take control, handing the Saints an 11-1 loss in five innings.
Saturday Doubleheader vs. Central Florida – March 22
Back on their home field, the Saints bounced back in game one, answering an early three-run deficit with consistent offense throughout the game to claim a 9-4 win.
Game two turned into a slugfest, with both teams exchanging home runs and big innings. SF led early but fell behind after Central Florida’s six-run fourth inning. A late push brought the Saints within one run, but the Patriots held on for a 13-12 win.

The 16-18 Saints return to action on Tuesday, March 25, traveling to Florida State College at Jacksonville for another exciting game.
