Santa Fe College to Host Fall Invitational Tournament Following Successful Opener

Two Santa Fe College Brain Bowl teams competed in this season's opening tournament at the College of Central Florida in Ocala on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26. Fourteen teams participated in the tournament.

After the preliminary rounds, Santa Fe College's B team was in a three-way tie for first place with Valencia College's B team and the team from Chipola College. SF was eliminated in the tie breaker rounds and ended up in third place. Chipola College won the tournament, and Valencia Black finished in second place.

Santa Fe College’s A team ended in 12th place. In the individual standings, SF's Griffin Lora won top honors with a phenomenal 128.57 points per game average. Lili Hart was also in the top 10, in ninth place with 45.63 points per game.

SF will host the Fall Invitational Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 2. The weekend after that, the teams will travel to Orlando to compete in the 27th annual Delta Burke Tournament at Valencia College.

Brain Bowl is an academic quiz competition where teams of up to four students challenge teams from other colleges by answering questions on:

  • science
  • popular culture
