Nominations Open for Part-Time Faculty Excellence Award
November 4, 2024
College Senate seeks nominations for the Part-Time Faculty Excellence Award. Up to three exceptional part-time faculty can receive this award. Part-time faculty can be nominated by a department chair, program director, coordinator, or a full-time faculty member, although each person can only nominate one part-time faculty member.
Eligibility
Nominees must:
- Have taught at Santa Fe College for at least four terms (the current term counts as one; terms do not have to be consecutive).
- Have taught a course in the past year.
- Have not received the Part-Time Faculty Excellence Award in the past five years.
Deadlines
- Nominators should send their nominations, ideally with a letter of support, to diana.matthews@sfcollege.edu by Friday, Nov. 22.
- Nominees will then be contacted and asked to complete a packet including a philosophy of teaching statement, a sample assignment, and a list of contributions to the college, profession and community by Wednesday, Dec. 6.
A small awards committee comprised of faculty in different academic areas will review nominations and determine the award recipients. Awards will be announced and presented at Professional Development Day (March 28, 2025). Winners will receive a plaque of recognition and a cash award of $200.
