Dr. Claudia Cornejo Happel to Lead Fall Faculty Symposium on Nov. 8

The Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence will host Dr. Claudia Cornejo Happel on Friday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Building R, Room 001 at the Northwest Campus. Lunch will be provided for registrants. Faculty, staff and administrators are invited to attend this fall faculty symposium.

- Six Essentials of Effective Instruction: Using Critical Teaching Behaviors to Transform Conversations about Teaching: 9 to 10:15 a.m.
- Foundations for Success: Defining Critical Teaching Behaviors for Student Learning: 10:30 a.m. to noon
Claudia Cornejo Happel, Ph.D. is Director of Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Her book, "Critical Teaching Behaviors: Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching," outlines key practices that promote student learning. She offers specific strategies for gathering feedback to promote success for instructors and their students.
20 copies of her workbook will be available in the CTLE after the event. Attendees can grab a copy and participate in a reading circle in January.
