CTLE Ribbon Cutting and Open House is Friday, Jan. 10

January 7, 2025

Designed as an innovative space to allow faculty to connect, collaborate and create, Santa Fe College will officially dedicate the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence with a ribbon cutting event at 10 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, followed by a daylong open house.

All are invited to celebrate and explore the Center. There will be refreshments and music from 10 to 11 a.m. The ceremony will take place about 10:30 a.m.

The CTLE, located in the heart of the Northwest Campus, was designed to make it easier and more conducive for faculty from across the College to get together in a welcoming and creative space.

“We wanted a dedicated space for faculty to use as they needed in pursuit of teaching and learning excellence,” said Leslie Rios, Ph.D., CTLE Director. “Our faculty value opportunities for multidisciplinary collaborations and discussions, departmental gatherings, and even much needed quiet space away from the department for everything from planning and research to reflection. The CTLE gives them the space they need.”

The Center on the first floor of Building P, contains multiple spaces, including a flex conference room with screens for presentations or conference calls, a maker’s space with conference table, a library, huddle spaces, a soundproof booth for recordings or calls, and a lounge space for both work and socializing.

The CTLE will be used for planned professional development programs and as a “drop in” space for faculty. Spaces also can be reserved for faculty and staff meetings.

Spring semester hours for the CTLE will be Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
