Foreign language instruction is of growing importance in China.
Approximately 300 million Chinese are currently learning or have learned English. This is followed in popularity by Japanese, Korean, French German instruction. Dr. Dian'en Zhang, Dean of the English department at Beijing Union University, will explain the challenges and opportunities associated with teaching foreign languages in the world's most populous country.
