Saints pull away in second half for an 87-78 win over SCF

For the second time this season, the Santa Fe Saints got the best of State College of Florida on Saturday, defeating the Manatees 87-78 in Bradenton to improve to 7-4 on the season. The Saints needed double overtime the first time the two teams in Gainesville on November 11, but took care of this one in regulation.
Santa Fe (7-4) trailed 41-40 after a back and forth, closely contested first half, but stepped up in the second half to build as much as an 18 point lead on their way to the nine-point win.
Alex Brown led the way for SF with 19 points, including four three-pointers, Benjy Dumornay had 18, Ty Birts 15, and Elijah Gore 11. Santa Fe was busy at the free throw line, outscoring the Manatees 22-8 to help give them their third win in a row.
SF will ty and keep their win streak going when they head to Marianna for the Chipola Classic on Dec. 4 and 5. They will take on Gulf Coast State College on Friday at 6 p.m. EST, and battle the hosts Chipola College on Saturday at 4 p.m. EST.
