Democracy Commitment Informational Meeting Today

Interested in promoting civic engagement and participation in the democratic process? The Democracy Commitment @ Santa Fe College is currently planning guest speakers, workshops, films and presentations for the 2013-2014 academic year and welcomes student input, participation and leadership.
The Democracy Commitment (TDC) is a national initiative providing a platform for the development and expansion of community college programs, projects and curricula aiming at engaging students in civic learning and democratic practice across the country. TDC@SF efforts currently underway include a series of speakers, presentations and workshops related to immigration, and exploring opportunities to bring awareness and volunteer service to migrant workers.
Students interested in forming a new TDC@SF student organization to facilitate voter registration drives and promote awareness and participation in local government in Alachua and Bradford counties are invited to attend an informational meeting from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18 in S-141.
