Santa Fe College Co-Hosts "Caring for Those Who Cared for Us"

September 13, 2024 – Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to attend "Caring for Those Who Cared for Us" to learn about services and resources for end-of-life care. Santa Fe College is collaborating with Community Hospice and Palliative Care as well as the Gainesville Black Professionals to provide this informational seminar along with a free dinner for all participants.

  • Caring for the Caregiver: Learn about the importance of supporting and caring for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
  • Advance Care Planning: Understand the significance of planning ahead for healthcare decisions, ensuring that your loved ones' wishes are respected.
  • Pre-Planning Funeral and Cremation: Discover the benefits of planning services in advance.
  • Hospice vs. Palliative Care: Explore the differences between hospice and palliative care, and how each can provide comfort and support to individuals and their families.
  • Question and Answer Session: Engage with our expert panel and get your questions answered regarding caregiving, advance care planning and end-of-life care.

Vice President for Student Affairs Naima Brown said that this session is just another way that Santa Fe College is enriching our community.

"Everyone," Brown said, "the young and the more seasoned in our local area, can benefit from learning about various strategies to plan ahead and take the burden off of their loved ones."
