Wanted: Student Volunteers to Critique Faculty Assignments
August 7, 2024
The SF Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence and the Quality Enhancement Plan are hosting workshops on Wednesday, August 28, 3-5 pm, Northwest Campus, and Thursday, August 29, 2-3:30 pm, Blount Center. Faculty from around the college will be encouraged to bring a course assignment for peer and student review.
Students are needed to offer their feedback and suggestions on how faculty can improve their assignments to make them more transparent.
Why are we doing this? Research demonstrates that "when faculty make the purpose, tasks and criteria of an academic assignment clear before students begin to work on it, students are more likely to experience greater academic success with that assignment, developing the knowledge, disposition, and skills necessary to succeed both at school and in life (in comparison to when students experience less clarity around purpose, tasks and criteria for their academic work). "
Students interested in using their voice to improve the SF learning experience can register for one or both workshops at: https://sfcollege.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7aD0J0yC2kNhvL0
