SF Baseball: Saints Take First Game, Fall Short in Second Against Falcons
February 26, 2024
February 26, 2024 – This past Saturday afternoon, the Santa Fe Saints baseball team took on the Daytona State College Falcons in an exciting doubleheader at home. Just a few days prior, the Saints had a tough loss in the series opener at Daytona, falling 13-9 to a walk-off grand slam.
However, the Saints came back strong on their home turf for the doubleheader. They kicked off the day with an impressive 5-1 victory in the first game. Despite a hard-fought effort in the second game, the Saints narrowly missed out. The Falcons won 9-7.
"Justin Jackson was great again for us throwing a complete game and saving our bullpen for game two," Saints Head Coach Johnny Wiggs said. "Disappointing not to come away with a win there, but we will continue to fight to get better."
The Saints' record now stands at 12-7, showcasing their resilience and determination as they continue through the season.
The Saints will travel to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Tuesday, Feb. 27 for what should be another thrilling showdown.
