Dr. Tony Blalock, First SFPD Chief, Passes Away

February 14, 2024 – Dr. Harvey Anthony “Tony” Blalock, founding Chief of the Santa Fe College Police Department, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11.

In addition to his many roles through the years, Dr. Blalock served on the Criminal
Justice Standards and Training Commission. He was a founding director of Santa Fe
College’s Institute of Public Safety as well as Assistant Vice President for Academic
Affairs. Santa Fe College honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
The funeral services for Dr. Blalock will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2 p.m. at
the Milam Funeral Home (Downtown) in Gainesville, Florida.
