We're Here to Help: SF Bookstore
January 16, 2024
January 16, 2024 – With a history dating back to 1998, the Santa Fe College Bookstore has been an integral part of campus life. Located on the Northwest Campus, the bookstore is committed to making sure students get the right course materials. Unlike many retailers, it minimizes the risk of running out of essentials and offers faculty exclusive customized textbooks for their classes.
"When students shop at the Santa Fe College Bookstore," Mary Jane Mahoney, the bookstore's General Manager said, "they can be confident that they are getting the correct course materials for their classes."
The bookstore understands the financial constraints students may face. It allows students to use their financial aid to purchase textbooks and other supplies through a Bookstore Line of Credit. This service assists students in obtaining necessary materials, promoting academic success by removing financial barriers.
Speaking of finances, the Santa Fe College Bookstore actively supports the school by contributing a percentage of its revenue to student scholarships and special programs.
"When students shop with us," Mahoney said, "they are also helping to support their school and fellow students."
Committed to making education affordable, the bookstore uses various approaches, such as providing different formats, having a Price Match Program and offering a buyback program.
College bookstores are more than places to shop. They are popular choices for student employment, especially if they are located on campus.
"We have hired over 2,000 temporary student workers to assist us and our students during the start of each semester," Mahoney said. "This allows our students a job on campus – a little bit of income – and generous discounts on their course materials and school supplies. Several of these temporary hires have gone on to have lifelong careers with Barnes & Noble College Bookstores on campuses around the country."
Mahoney should know. She's celebrating 25 years with Barnes & Noble College Bookstores, all spent on the Northwest Campus. Visit the Santa Fe College Bookstore website today!
