January 6, 2024 – Santa Fe College prepared for the upcoming spring term this week. Here's some SF news you might have missed:
- The SF Emergency Procedures Quick Guides were updated: Everyone is encouraged to review them before the spring term begins.
- The 2024-2025 FAFSA form is available: Current and prospective Santa Fe College students seeking financial aid must complete the form.
- Lisa Brosky was named Associate Vice President of Marketing & Communications: Her first day at SF will be Tuesday, Jan. 16.
- SF Achieve seeks new mentors: The program is looking for new mentors for hundreds of SF Achieve Scholars enrolling at SF in Spring, Summer and Fall 2024.
- Santa Fe College will honor the life of Dr. Steve Bingham: A funeral in honor of Dr. Bingham will take place on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gainesville, followed by the opening of the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts hall at 5 p.m. for guests to remember him.
- FrogWatch USA volunteer training was announced: If you have a passion for learning about your local frog populations and have the ability to regularly visit a local wetland for data collection from February to August, this program is for you!
- SF's Cardiovascular Sonography Technology program hosts free ultrasound testing: Open to SF employees, family and the general public, testing includes cardiovascular (echocardiography) and carotid arteries tests.
- The SF Fitness Center has new hours: It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
- The SF Saints Men's Basketball team defeated the Central Georgia Technical College Titans: The SF Saints Men's and Women's Basketball teams host Daytona State College on Jan. 10.
- The SF Teaching Zoo was showcased in the Community College Journal: The zoo's hands-on experiences and public benefits were highlighted.
