ICYMI: Santa Fe College Event Highlights

December 29, 2023 – Boo at the Zoo, Run with the Cops and Open House were a few notable Santa Fe College happenings over the past year. Here are some SF events you might have missed:
- SF Theatre audiences were transported to "The 10-Minute Zone:" Paying tribute to Rod Serling's "The Twilight Zone," four
short comedic plays entertained the crowd.
- Santa Fe College hosted Open House: Prospective students and their families were invited to Santa Fe College's
Northwest Campus for the annual event.
- The 51st Annual Santa Fe College Spring Arts Festival took place April 1-2: Hosted on SF's Northwest Campus, the event highlighted regional and local
visual artists, student artists and independent businesses.
- Dance Theatre of Santa Fe's "Room to Dance" closed the season: The annual student-choreographed and student-produced season finale enlivened
audiences.
- The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass performed in the Santa Fe College Master Artist Series: The SF Master Artist Series brings
professional performers to campus to work with and mentor students in the music, dance
and theatre departments.
- Santa Fe College held the groundbreaking for the Cellon Institute: The Ralph W. Cellon Jr. Institute for
Skilled Trades and Advanced Manufacturing will be built on SF's Northwest Campus.
- The Santa Fe Winds inspired their audience during the "Winds and Classics" concert: Santa Fe College Associate
Professor of Music and Band Director David L. Smith conducted 13 students.
- The Limón Dance Company taught and performed as part of the college's Master Artist Series: The company's public performance opened
the annual Young Dancer Workshop.
- Boo at the Zoo returned to Santa Fe College: 6,400 people came out to trick or treat through the zoo.
- The winter holidays started early: The Santa Fe Singers, with special guests the Gainesville Youth Chorus, performed
"Songs of the Season."
- STEAM Fest! engaged visitors: The Perry Center's annual event showcased scientific research and highlighted
industry speakers.
- First Gen Day celebrated first-generation students: The community also honored faculty and staff who are first-generation
graduates.
- Run with the Cops returned to the Northwest Campus track: Open to the entire community, the free event supported vulnerable populations in our area.
