SF and FGC Sign Articulations to Benefit Students

January 10, 2023

January 10, 2022 – Santa Fe College and Florida Gateway College have entered into an articulation agreement that will increase opportunities for students through strengthening the relationship between neighboring Florida College System Schools. Last week, SF President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. was on Florida Gateway's campus in Lake City for a ceremonial signing of the agreements, which went into effect last fall.

Students interested in earning their bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or Water Resources Management, or their A.S. degree in Environmental Science Technology, would start the program at Santa Fe College, before completing the degree at FGC. Students wanting to enter the Industrial Biotechnology bachelor's program or the Biotechnology A.S. program would take their classes at Florida Gateway before completing the program at SF.

"I am happy to work with Florida Gateway College to benefit students in North Central Florida," President Broadie said. 'These articulation agreements expand opportunities for students to obtain degrees in in-demand fields. It creates avenues for students to follow their dreams, and to have social and economic mobility. It also provides business and industry in our community with an increased talent pool of qualified individuals to meet their needs."

The articulation agreements are designed to support students interested in the programs even if their home institution does not offer that particular track. The agreement gives students more opportunities to enter programs of their choice, enables SF and FGC to offer additional educational opportunities to students, and provides qualified trained individuals to businesses in North Central Florida.

Students interested in the academic programs related to these articulation agreements should contact their home institution academic advisors for additional information.
