Celebrate First Gen Day November 2

October 28, 2022

October 28, 2022 – The entire college community is invited to celebrate with our first-generation students on First Generation Day, Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Building R, Room 001.

A first-generation college student is a student whose parent or parents did not complete a four-year college or university degree. First-generation students at SF have a lot of company – about one in three SF students is first-generation, and SF has more than 170 employees who are first-generation college graduates, including four of the college's five VPs.

Please make plans to attend this event that is designed to boost students' sense-of belonging. While there, you can enjoy some pizza while you connect with our first-generation students and show them that there are many faculty and staff members at the college who share the same background. Dr. Broadie will open the event with a proclamation at 11 a.m., followed by a resource fair with fun games.
