IPS To Host Behavioral Health Event for First Responders

October 6, 2022 – Santa Fe College's Institute of Public Safety will host an event Friday, Oct. 21, that will focus on support for the behavioral health needs of first responders and their families.
The "Building a Successful Behavioral Health Access Program for First Responder Readiness" listening session will allow active and former first responders, their family members and public safety agency leaders in North Central Florida to share their views, experiences and expertise regarding behavioral health challenges. Feedback from participants will provide policy-makers and staff who determine health and wellness benefits with a better understanding of the needs, barriers and challenges relating to mental health and wellness programming.
The event is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at SF's Kirkpatrick Center, 3737 NE 39th Avenue in Gainesville. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served in the student lounge at 8 a.m.
The event will be sponsored by WellFlorida Council, the First Responder Project, and Lutheran Services of Florida, with support from First Lady Casey DeSantis and the Florida Department of Children and Families.
