Mindsets for STEM Virtual Conference Scheduled for July 14-15

July 8, 2022 – The Florida-Caribbean Louis Stokes Regional Center of Excellence (FL-C LSRCE) will be hosting its third and final Mindsets for STEM Virtual Conference "Exploring Mindset Theory, Intervention and Practice" Thursday and Friday, July 14 and 15. Please join us and our speakers, Dr. Joyce E. King, of Georgia State University; Dr. Afiya Fredericks, of the University of the District of Columbia; and Dr. Omid Fotuhi, of the University of Pittsburgh. We will also be hearing from several authors of our upcoming edited volume, "Mindset Pathways To STEM Success: A Compilation of Tools and Strategies for Higher Education to Boost STEM Learning." The FL-C LSRCE is a collaborative research-practitioner partnership between Santa Fe College and the University of the Virgin Islands to broaden participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by developing, testing and disseminating mindset intervention practices that enhance growth mindsets when encountering academic challenges. Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the NSF INCLUDES National Network in late 2018 and launched in early 2019, the Center is led by Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Stefanie Waschull, of Santa Fe College and Dr. Camille McKayle, of the University of the Virgin Islands.
