President Broadie Takes Community Leaders on Tour of New Blount Hall
January 12, 2022
January 12, 2022 – Earlier this week, Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D., led community and faith leaders in East Gainesville on a tour of the soon-to-be-completed Blount Hall in downtown Gainesville. With guidance provided by Blount Project Manager Freedlengton Joseph, and supported by SF's Executive Director of Special Project in Student Affairs, Dr. Karen Cole Smith, the faith-based leaders learned about President Broadie's vision for the new facility and how it will impact the community.
Upon its completion later this spring, the 87,366 square foot facility will offer associate degrees and programs to students, while creating a convenient, accessible location to underserved communities for whom travel to the Northwest Campus may impede their ability to earn a college education.
On the tour, Dr. Broadie shared that while Blount Hall will serve as a beacon of hope to many in the community, the college is relying on the pastors to share in the responsibility of pointing potential students to SF for certificates, degrees, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
"The faith-based community and Santa Fe College have been unified in our commitment to strengthen the community and introduce individuals to the vast array of educational opportunities available," Dr. Broadie said. "Our longstanding connection spanning more than 20 years, has and will continue to expose countless individuals to the power of education as we continue to transform lives. I thank the members of East Gainesville Initiative for their unwavering commitment and focus."
Santa Fe College is now registering for the Spring G term, which begins Feb. 7. Please visit sfcollege.edu/admissions for information on enrolling.
