Professional Development Opportunity on Promoting Active Learning for SF Faculty
December 7, 2021
December 7, 2021 – Santa Fe College is again excited to offer its faculty the opportunity to participate in and pursue a Certificate in Effective College Instruction, the only college teaching credential endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE). The January 2022 offering is Promoting Active Learning Online, focused on learning and implementing research-based teaching practices, each shown to improve student success. The course will be professionally facilitated and delivered online with a cohort of faculty members, with whom you will share insights and ideas.
The Promoting Active Learning Online course begins Monday, Jan. 17 and will end Sunday, March 6. The pace is about one module per week, which requires two to three hours of activity.
Interested faculty are encouraged to apply by Thursday, Dec. 10, by completing this attached form. Participants will be selected based on both their interest level and their alignment of professional goals to the institution's goals for improving student success.
Uponsuccessful completion of each microcourse, you will earn a microcredential. This digital badge can be added to your curriculum vitae, used in online teaching portfolios, and displayed on LinkedIn profiles or webpages as a sign of your achievement. SF faculty are strongly encouraged to pursue completion of all microcredentials to earn the nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction.
