Racial Equity Institute Training Scheduled for October, January
October 4, 2021
October 4, 2021 – Santa Fe College is continuing its partnership with the Racial Equity Institute to offer both the Groundwater and Phase I interactive workshops on the nature and impact of structural racism and what it looks like across institutions. These workshops will be held online and are available at no cost for SF employees and students.
"Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach" is a three-hour interactive workshop that teaches how to use data to measure the systemic impact of racism and to track institutional change. This workshop will be held Friday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. until noon.
In the new year, there will also be a session of the "Phase I" workshop. This is a much more immersive workshop that builds the capacity of participants to identify the root causes of disparity and establish goals and strategies based on that deeper understanding. These sessions run over two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 25-26, 2022, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days.
Although these trainings are free for SF students and employees, the general public can also register for these courses for an $89 fee for the Groundwater training and $375 for the Phase I trainings.
