Retirement Celebration for Kim Johnson
September 21, 2021
September 21, 2021 – Kim Johnson is retiring from Santa Fe College after 35 years of service. Her last day on campus will be September 30.
Kim started in the Office for Finance in January 1987 as a Clerk. She progressed over the next 13 years to an Account Clerk. In 2000, Kim advanced to an administrative assistant in the Office of the Vice President for Educational Services and four years later moved into her current position working in the President's Office. Kim's significant impact at the college has followed her throughout her career.
As the administrative assistant for the President's Office, Kim has provided direct support and assisted with the general coordination of day-to-day office operations. Her presence, commitment, and talents have resulted in an ambiance difficult to replicate. "When I first came to the VP/President's area Kim was always, and continues to be, a source of institutional practices and procedures," said her fellow colleague, Cheryl Farrell. "Her unique eye for detail and keen management of the office is unparalleled, and her love of plants is epic, gracing all of us with their beauty."
Paula Gainey agreed and added, "she's got that spunk and sass that brightens our office every day. I can't thank her enough for her help and guidance in my transition to the President's Office. Kim and her husband Ken have been true friends over the years, and I will miss them both!"
Recently retired Tina Crosby added "the President's Office has greatly benefited from Kim's outstanding support, commitment to excellence, and impeccable accounting skills. It was an honor to have worked with her and to be her friend for so many years. I wish her well with her permanent vacation!"
Please join us in celebrating Kim at her retirement reception, Friday, Sept. 24, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the President's Lobby.
