Thomas Beckwith Named to Emerging Leaders List at NACADA
April 15, 2021
April 15, 2021 – Santa Fe College's Coordinator of the Academic Advisement Center, Thomas Beckwith, was named to the 2021-2023 Class of Emerging Leaders for NACADA – The Global Community for Academic Advising. Beckwith was one of only ten advisors selected internationally for this leadership program.
The program is designed to provide mentoring that will help emerging leaders develop the skills needed to serve students where they are, as well as allow the emerging leaders to grow and develop both personally and professionally.
"Thomas Beckwith is an amazing asset to our students," SF President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. said. "His compassion and drive to see our students succeed makes us stronger as an institution and we cannot wait to see how he continues to grow as a leader."
During the two-year program, Beckwith will work with a mentor from NACADA to gain knowledge of NACADA's mission based on his own interests and goals. Through the program, Beckwith and SF will gain additional international focus and enhance the ability to serve students seeking to gain a deeper understanding and skills to compete and succeed globally.
"We at Santa Fe College are so excited that Thomas was selected for the NACADA leadership program," added SF's Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Naima Brown. "He is an emerging leader who has already made a significant difference in advising and he has contributed greatly across the college. We look forward to supporting and celebrating his growth."
SF is proud of the work Beckwith does for our students and will continue to support his growth and development. Congratulations, Thomas!
