SF Hosts Racial Equity Institute Trainings Later This Month
March 2, 2021
March 2, 2021 – Santa Fe College is partnering with the Racial Equity Institute to offer two trainings this spring. "Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach" is a three-hour interactive workshop on the nature and impact of structural racism and what it looks like across institutions. This virtual workshop will be offered Friday, March 19, from 9 a.m.-noon. These trainings are free to SF students, faculty and staff, and are available to the general public for $89.
There will also be a more immersive "Phase I" workshop held March 29-30, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Racial Equity Institute's two-day Phase I training is designed to develop the capacity of participants to understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. Phase I builds the capacity of participants to identify the root causes of disparity and establish goals and strategies based on that deeper understanding. This two-day virtual workshop is free to SF faculty and staff, and available to the general public for $375.
Registration information and additional details on the workshops are available on SF's Access and Inclusion webpage.
