Racial Equity Institute Trainings at SF Scheduled for February and March
February 15, 2021
February 15, 2021 – Santa Fe College is partnering with the Racial Equity Institute to offer two trainings this spring. "Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach" is a three-hour interactive virtual workshop on the nature and impact of structural racism and what it looks like across institutions. This virtual workshop will be offered Friday, Feb. 19, and Friday, March 19, both sessions will run from 9 a.m.-noon. These trainings are free to SF faculty and staff, and are available to the general public for $89.
There will also be a more immersive "Phase I" workshop held March 29-30, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Racial Equity Institute's two-day Phase I training is designed to develop the capacity of participants to understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. Phase I builds the capacity of participants to identify the root causes of disparity and establish goals and strategies based on that deeper understanding. This two-day virtual workshop is free to SF faculty and staff, and available to the general public for $375.
Registration information and additional details on the workshops are available on SF's Access and Inclusion webpage.
