Board of Trustees Bestows Emeritus Status to Trustee Robert Hudson

November 18, 2020 – The Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees honored outgoing Trustee Robert Hudson with the status of Trustee Emeritus at their meeting Tuesday afternoon. Hudson as served the college as a trustee for the last 11 years, and becomes just the second person to be named emeritus, joining Col. Arley McRae.

During his tenure on the Board of Trustees, Hudson was involved in the creation of the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall, the expansion of SF's Institute of Public Safety, the renovation of the Lyceum and the expansion of the Blount Campus, scheduled to open for students in 2022.

President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. praised Hudson, saying "Trustee Hudson has been an invaluable resource to me, he has been integral to the success of the college. I wish him nothing but the best and thank him for his service to the college," adding "He will forever be a part of the Santa Fe College family."

It was also announced at the meeting that Hudson was starting the Hudson Family Scholarship, making the opportunity of a college education available to more students in SF's service district.

The Trustee Emeritus is designed to recognize distinguished service to the college and allows Hudson to be included as a guest of honor at special events hosted by the college.
